I was watching this movie last night in PBO rin (why am I suddenly watching the films in this channel). It was a pretty old movie and it starred Bobby Andrews, Angelu de Leon, Onemig Bondoc, Raven Villanueva, Rica Peralejo, Michael Flores, Red Sternberg, and Lee Robin Salazar (Naks! Alam na alam!), basically the entire cast of TGIS. I think this was their first movie together. I’m not gonna go into details… it really sucked and the audio was so bad (is it something with the channel?) What kept me watching though was that it brought back childhood memories, since I used to be a fan of TGIS/Growing Up, AND Red Sternberg was so damn cute!! Why is his showbiz career over?? And it was cute how they tried to change around the “love teams,” Bobby/Rica(??) pretty random, eh?
I hope they come out with DVDs of old TGIS and Growing Up episodes, I really like exploring old childhood memories…

My cousin gave me a link to a forum with this news. Apparently they’re coming to perform in Clark (Pampanga) next week, Feb. 6-7, 2008. Is it true?? Seriously! I must see them! I must see Donghae, Kibum, and Siwon! And also Shindong! The sched and venue is so inconvenient though. I don’t have class on Wed but next week is still hell week for me. How can I go all the way to Pampanga?! I can’t even drive by myself yet. Anyway, I’m not even sure if this is really happening. Can anyone confirm?

Another good ol’ Walker family dinner! Yay! Of course all the issues and secrets come out at times like these and it was so much fun.
This time around it was even better because Robert was part of the whole thing and his reactions were so funny. I love him… It’s too bad Rebecca wasn’t there. She didn’t have any scenes with the Walkers. That guy probably won’t turn out to be her dad but I bet she wants him to since she could still get to know him plus she’s starting to have feelings for Justin (but then again this is a family show, hehe!). I want to know how she’ll react when she finds out Justin’s still sleeping with Lena. The storyline’s getting juicier but there’s only a couple of episodes left to air because of the writer’s stike. I think the last two episodes will be aired on Feb 11 and 18.

Yes, my favorite scenes from the anime are in this episode. I can’t wait for Nomiya and Yamada to meet but I don’t think it will be in the next ep. I still really like the Morita/Yamada friendship. I love all their scenes together (and they have quite a lot). My favorite was when Morita tried to cheer her up by stamping “Mayama is an idiot” everywhere. They MUST do the “holding hands” scene from the anime. By the way, I wonder if they’ll let Morita go on his mysterious trips…
Love Song-SARS English subbed version of episode 1 and 2 has come out in d-addicts. I think you can watch it in youtube and veoh as well.

I caught this movie a while ago in PBO and remembered seeing it a long time ago when I was a kid (although I can’t say the movie is suitable for kids). After some research I found out the title. It came out 1988 and it starred Jacklyn Jose, Mark Gil, and Anjo Yllana. It had a mature and dark theme, which explains why I didn’t really understand it well when I saw it before. It was about this bank teller (Jacklyn Jose) who was kidnapped/taken hostage by this guy (Mark Gil) who robbed the bank. When she was found, she claimed he raped her and stuff but then there are still questions about what really happened.
Anjo Yllana played her husband. I guess he wasn’t a comedian back then. He was so serious and dramatic here. He was super fit as well (someone from our house said he was like his brother, Jomari). There was even this part when I just had to say, wow, he was hot! I also just realized how pretty Jacklyn Jose really is. And I did feel there was kilig with Mark Gil, who was also hot back then I must admit. Except those scenes where he was just wearing those tighty whities, I had to cringe. It just doesn’t look nice to see guys wearing those. I just have to say the audio was so bad, but it’s probably because it was so old that the quality diminished. It added to the creepiness of the film though. The acting was great. I enjoyed all the twists on the events. It was sad how things had to turn out but it was a great way to end/resolve the film.
It was a pretty cool movie, in a way that it’s different from what’s been coming out nowadays. Older movies were better, eh? You can’t find those kinds of themes in commercial/mainstream movies. I’m suddenly hankering for a nice local indie film that has a similar theme, any ideas?

This is so… random. If I knew a celebrity was going to die today, I wouldn’t have expected it to be him. He’s still so young (only 28), he has a little daughter (now he won’t get to see her grow up), and he seems to be doing well in his career. He just finished filming Batman, where he plays Joker. I never saw A Knights Tale nor Brokeback Mountain but 10 Things I Hate About You has always been one of my favorite movies. It feels weird that he suddenly passed away.
From what I heard he was found dead in his apartment by a masseuse (he had an appointment that day). They found sleeping pills and suspected overdose. Some people are saying he also had pneumonia when he took the pills and it definitely did not help.

Yay! Regine Velasquez is not hosting this!
Raymond Gutierrez is the host, good enough but I was really hoping for Drew Arellano. Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal, and Wyngard Tracy are the judges. It doesn’t look too bad. But I heard Louie Ignacio is still directing this and he’ll using butterflies and such gayness on stage because apparently, it’s his trademark. What a crap!
What’s sad though is that they’re completely disregarding the first season of Philippine Idol, which was on ABC 5. It really sucks for Mau (the winner) because after everything she’s been through to win, it suddenly seems like it wasn’t legit when it was naman, it was an original legitimate franchise. Philippine Idol wasn’t so bad either. Ryan Cayabyab was a great judge, too bad Pinoy Dream Academy has him now.

I’ve only seen the first 3 episodes but I love this show. I love watching these kinds of fashion type shows. The challenges are interesting and the designers are brilliant. Iman is kind of weird and creepy as a host. The low voice and accent can be distracting. Sometimes, she also seems so cold. Although, I always end up laughing when they show her looking back at the camera and saying, “Next time on Project Runway Canada,” or something like that. She’s just so serious but sounds funny. Apart from that, I love the show. I hope to watch more episodes when I’m not so busy with schoolwork anymore.
Project Catwalk (UK version) – I love Elizabeth Hurley as the host but this was so badly edited that I couldn’t get myself to watch more than one episode. They didn’t show much of the designing part and focused more on the personal stuff like how the designers got along and partied and who was gay. In the end, I realized I didn’t really know how the designing went and I just saw the clothes when they were on the catwalk. The thing I hated most though was the narration. There’s too much! “The designers went to the store, then they went home and had a party. ____ was designing his clothes while ____ was pissed off.” Why don’t you just show us or let the designers talk for themselves?? Why keep talking? It’s really annoying, just shut up for a sec, ok?
So yeah, I’m sticking with PRC. I heard a new season of Project Runway US will be shown soon here in the Philippines on ETC, yay! Or has it started already? I have to check… Bye!

And just like that, I’m in a new Honey & Clover craze. This show is soooo amazing, it’s not even funny. It follows the anime way more than the movie did but still twisted it into something new. I love all the characters.
Mayama was the hot stuff I’ve always imagined he was in the anime.
As expected, Takemoto, played by Ikuta Toma, was brilliant.
Hagu, played by Narumi Riko, was fine. She was pretty good actually but Aoi Yuu is still the best Hagu ever, maybe even better than the anime cause anime Hagu was just made too kiddie looking. Oh, and back to the live action drama, I found it weird how they made Hagu smile at Takemoto when they first met. It’s not like her. She’s like, afraid of people. I think she was more likely to run away when she saw him.
Yamada was perfect, especially with her kicking scenes and her “pathetic-but-you-still-feel-for-her” love for Mayama. The way she was wiping her tears while she was doing the pottery, heartwrenching.
I didn’t expect much from Morita but he has me now. He’s cute rin pala. He was great at being weird and funny without trying too hard. And oh my god, the best thing for me here is the Yamada/Morita friendship. I thought they wouldn’t even bother with it because romance sells, right? But yes, they do show their closeness like in the anime, maybe even more.
I was smiling throughout the entire episode because I couldn’t believe how nice it turned out. And with the scoring and everything. But of course, I was almost crying during the saddest moments, like when Takemoto heard Hagu say she liked Morita’s piece and when Yamada was crying over Mayama. The next episode looks even better. I think I saw all the best scenes from the anime in the preview for ep 2. The part when Mayama was carrying Yamada and she kept repeating she liked him… for me, that was the saddest/heaviest but most memorable moment when I watched the anime. It just had this strong effect on me.
Oh well, I’ll probably be hungover for the next few weeks.
