Honey and Clover Live Action Drama – Episode 2

Yes, my favorite scenes from the anime are in this episode. I can’t wait for Nomiya and Yamada to meet but I don’t think it will be in the next ep. I still really like the Morita/Yamada friendship. I love all their scenes together (and they have quite a lot). My favorite was when Morita tried to cheer her up by stamping “Mayama is an idiot” everywhere. They MUST do the “holding hands” scene from the anime. By the way, I wonder if they’ll let Morita go on his mysterious trips…

Love Song-SARS English subbed version of episode 1 and 2 has come out in d-addicts. I think you can watch it in youtube and veoh as well.

Honey and Clover Live Action Drama – Episode 1

And just like that, I’m in a new Honey & Clover craze. This show is soooo amazing, it’s not even funny. It follows the anime way more than the movie did but still twisted it into something new. I love all the characters.

Mayama was the hot stuff I’ve always imagined he was in the anime.

As expected, Takemoto, played by Ikuta Toma, was brilliant.

Hagu, played by Narumi Riko, was fine. She was pretty good actually but Aoi Yuu is still the best Hagu ever, maybe even better than the anime cause anime Hagu was just made too kiddie looking. Oh, and back to the live action drama, I found it weird how they made Hagu smile at Takemoto when they first met. It’s not like her. She’s like, afraid of people. I think she was more likely to run away when she saw him.

Yamada was perfect, especially with her kicking scenes and her “pathetic-but-you-still-feel-for-her” love for Mayama. The way she was wiping her tears while she was doing the pottery, heartwrenching.

I didn’t expect much from Morita but he has me now. He’s cute rin pala. He was great at being weird and funny without trying too hard. And oh my god, the best thing for me here is the Yamada/Morita friendship. I thought they wouldn’t even bother with it because romance sells, right? But yes, they do show their closeness like in the anime, maybe even more.

I was smiling throughout the entire episode because I couldn’t believe how nice it turned out. And with the scoring and everything. But of course, I was almost crying during the saddest moments, like when Takemoto heard Hagu say she liked Morita’s piece and when Yamada was crying over Mayama. The next episode looks even better. I think I saw all the best scenes from the anime in the preview for ep 2. The part when Mayama was carrying Yamada and she kept repeating she liked him… for me, that was the saddest/heaviest but most memorable moment when I watched the anime. It just had this strong effect on me.

Oh well, I’ll probably be hungover for the next few weeks.

Don’t Laugh at My Romance

Ah… Another Kenichi Matsuyama movie coming out this year. I don’t think there’s an exact date yet. I found this trailer last night…

I’m not sure about the story but from what I’ve heard, that woman with Kenichi (played by Nagasaku Hiromi) is supposed to be 39 yrs. old? So I guess the story is about a guy in a relationship with an older woman. But then there’s another girl who likes him (played by Aoi Yuu). I love Aoi Yuu by the way. She played Hagu in the Honey & Clover live action movie, and as I said in a previous post, she was soooo perfect as Hagu. She was so cute… So yeah, I’m excited to see her with Kenichi this time. Hmm… So Kenichi Matsuyama has now worked with both actresses who play Hagu in Honey & Clover live action drama AND movie (Narumi Riko in Shindo and now Aoi Yuu). Nice!

Getting back to the trailer, hmm… I think the music is cute. Kenichi is shirtless, and smoking… and has a make out scene, no wait, and a love scene! I was kind of shocked when I first saw this cause haven’t even seen him do like a kissing scene before. Does he have any other film or series where he has a kissing scene?? Anyway, this movie looks good. But that older woman… um… anyway, I hope he ends up with Aoi Yuu’s character.

Honey and Clover Live Action Drama

I heard this premiered tonight in Japan, actually, last night since it’s 2 AM now. Unfortunately I won’t get to watch until someone uploads with english subs. I hope they share the joy soon. I loved the anime version and even the live action movie although many didn’t like it. It’s because the movie was just so different from the original. I hope the series is better.

Ikuta Toma (Hana Kimi) plays Takemoto. Although I love him, I see him as more of a Morita because of his sort of wildness in Hana Kimi (plus, *spoiler* I wish he’d get the girl for once *end of spoiler*) but since I know he’s a pretty brilliant actor I think he’ll do just fine as Takemoto, who’s more of a quiet/shy type. Aoi Yuu played Hagu in the live action movie, she was soooo perfect. Narumi Riko (One litre of Tears, Shindo) plays Hagu in the series, she looks mature although she’s young but when I saw her in the teasers she seemed to pull it off quite well also. Narimiya Hiroki (Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003) is Morita. I can’t get over his role in Kou Kou Kyoushi, he was scary. Well at least I know he’s wild enough to be Morita.

So far so good… Here’s the teaser…
